Demonstration facilities

Forums allow individual subjects to be 'opened' by any group member and for all members of the group to contribute to the discussion with an individual group member acting as an overall moderator.
The usage example discussed below is a 'classic' use of Forums in a support context but for your One Name Study they provide a way to conduct extended discussions, where an audit trail of thoughts are laid out for other research group members to review. With this approach individual Forums therefore provide an excellent vehicle for:
- Collating/reviewing research threads around a particular 'brick wall' in a family tree.
- Discussing a planned line of research for a new branch of a tree.
- Discussing any proposed new activity/project such as a DNA programme.
- etc.
The Demo Feedback Forum illustrated below is an example that you can try for yourself from the Forum menu item on the left once you are logged in using the id/password of testuser/testuser.
If you click on the individual Forum name this opens up the Forum as shown in the screen shot below.
If you then click on the Forum title the details of the Forum open up as shown in the screen shot below.
To post a new comment/question just scroll to the bottom of the screen to see the area shown in the screen shot below - then you can delete the existing text and type in your new text which will be posted to the Forum when you click on the 'post' button which you can see on the line labelled 'Post new reply'
If you have any questions or suggestions for using Forums then why not post a comment in the Demo Feedback Forum itself, which as mentioned before you can access once you login using the id/password of testuser/testuser.
